Her Drive

PerseveranceMalala is best known for her perseverance. She quotes in her book, "You were the one who said if we believe in something greater than our lives, then our voices will only multiply even if we are dead. We can't disown our campaign" (Yousafzai 224-225). She says this when her dad is doubting that they will continue with their campaign and she wants to continue despite the Taliban threatening her and her family.
HopefulAnother characteristic of Malala is her ability to be hopeful. Just like all of her other traits, she was born with it. She says, "I wore more fashionable clothes and didn't cover my face even when i became a teenager" (66). In this part, Malala is saying that she dresses different because she does what she wants and she is hopeful for her future. Later in the book, when she gets shot; she says she is the only one who is not covering her face. She shows strength and hopefulness in that part because she knew the Taliban had threatened her and her family but she stayed hopeful.

StrengthOne of Malala's other qualities include strength. Since she was a little kid she has been the strongest girl in the schoolyard. Her strength is what got her to where she is now and how she keeps going throughout the hard times. From being threatened by the Taliban, and to even being shot in the head. She say, "I had been put into an induced coma, my vital signs were deteriorating, my face and body were swollen, and my kidneys and lungs failing" (261). By her saying this, it just shows that through all this pain that she is suffering, she is strong and does not let the pain bother her. She has lived through all of it and still thrives to better things.
FearlessHer last unique quality that results in her being resilient is being fearless. She is fearless in a way that results in good things for all of her people. When her schools all got blown up, she kept on fighting. When she got shot in the head and did not think she was going to survive, she kept on fighting. In the book, she says to herself, "Why don't you go there and fight for women's rights?" (133). She is talking to herself at this part and truly thinks that she should fight for women's rights and I think that is fearless. She truly is not afraid of anything and that is inspiring for young girls all around the world who want to stand up for what they believe in.
